Pitch Report: The pitch has a bit of grass on it. They are even covered with fine grass. The seamers will enjoy it. The pitch is the hardest of the series. The pitch says bowl first. Four years ago England chased down 362.

Ben Stokes: We are gonna have a bowl. We are happy going either way. It looks like a very good cricket wicket. Aiming to get something with the ball early on. The injury that happened to Popey and a few thought processes which went into it – one of which was what team we go for if I don’t bowl. Position Brooky was in the squad last summer, he is a fantastic player and he always puts his chin up for any situation and the situation presented itself. Also, we want to keep Rooty at 4. Mo is confident and we are confident. He is a match-winner and on his day he can turn the game in our favor. It’s an amazing place to play cricket, especially the Western Terrace, we love playing here and the Yorkshire faithful love watching Jonny and Rooty.

Pat Cummins: We would have had a bowl as well but it’s not a big deal. Cam Green has a slight strain so Mitch Marsh comes in for his first Test in a while. Three changes for us. He is playing his 5th Test and he was a star for us in India, he is pumped [on Todd Murphy]. He is huge, just the standard he has set, averaging almost 60, hopefully it will be a special week for us. Would not expect anything less coming here [on the hostile reception expected here]. The last time was a fantastic Test here in 2019 and the first two have been pretty good. Expecting the same here.
