Pitch Report: The new ball offers a moment in the air for quite some time, which is difficult for batters initially. Once the ball gets older or the swing settles, spin plays a vital role as the pitch gets older. Based on the most recent games at Rajapaksa International Stadium and the results of the first two ODIs, the bowlers definitely have an advantage in Hambantota. Overall, pacers have had a small advantage over spinners in the last eight games. While the pacers have taken 57 wickets, the spinners have picked up 50. The pitch will likely spin a lot in the third ODI. In the second ODI, the spinners took 11 wickets out of 16. The team winning the toss will look to chase, as the chasing teams win a high percentage of matches. The average first-inning score at Hambantota is 254.

Hashmatullah Shahidi: We had a bad day as batters. It happens in cricket. Still a good batting wicket. We lost early wickets. Some bad shot selections didn’t help us. We need to improve. Specially in batting. We will work harder for the series against Bangladesh. Ibrahim has been doing good for the last one year. Hoping he will do good in Asia Cup and the World Cup.
Dasun Shanaka: After being 1-0 down, coming here and wrapping it up was special. Dimuth has been outstanding in the last two years. He has lot more to offer for Sri Lankan cricket. We played as a group and showed what we can do. Chameera and Kumara set it up for us. Selectors showed the faith in them and they have showed what they can do. Always good to have selection headache.
