India vs Bangladesh Champions Trophy 2nd Match Highlights

India won their first match in the 2025 Champions Trophy with a strong performance from Mohammed Shami and Shubman Gill.

Shami took five wickets, helping India restrict Bangladesh to 228 runs. Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy fought back with a brilliant century, but his team still fell short of a challenging total.

At the start, Bangladesh struggled badly. They lost two wickets in the first two overs. Axar Patel made things worse by taking two more wickets quickly.

Bangladesh lost half their team for just 35 runs. They needed a partnership, and Jaker Ali and Hridoy provided it. They played carefully, ensuring Bangladesh didn’t get bowled out too early.

They both reached their half-centuries, and Hridoy started playing more aggressively. He hit some boundaries and even reached his century, but Shami’s excellent bowling ended Bangladesh’s hopes.

Chasing 228, India started strongly. Rohit Sharma and Gill attacked the Bangladeshi bowlers in the PowerPlay. Rohit scored quickly and reached 37 before getting out.

After his wicket, the scoring slowed down. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer got out, making the match slightly tense. Axar Patel also failed to contribute.

With India needing 85 runs, Gill and KL Rahul played patiently. Bangladesh missed a crucial chance when they dropped Rahul. He made them pay by hitting a six.

Gill reached his slowest ODI century but played a vital role in the win. In the end, Rahul finished the match with a six, and India won by six wickets.
